Pipestone or Catlinite Necklace
Product Description
Pipestone is also called Catlinite, and this piece features two polished chunks that have been strung on natural rolled leather, and accented with copper beads. This catlinite was dug from the Pipestone National Monument in SW Minnesota by a Native American man who has a registered plot there.
The lower piece of pipestone measures approximately 36mm x 25mm x 23mm and the upper measures approximately 18mm x 17mm x 10mm. Both pieces have nice flat sides, ready for you to etch a design into the stone if you please --- you may use simple hand tools such as a safety pin or dental pick to etch pipestone. Total hanging length of beads and stones measures approximately 90mm.
